Commercial Litigation Solicitor for US Law firm in London

A new vacancy has arisen with a US law firm with offices in London.

US headquartered law firm of 750 lawyers across 19 offices in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

COMMERCIAL LITIGATION
Looking for a 6-8 PQE min to work on a number of recently acquired litigations. One of these is a White Collar fraud which involves working on behalf of the government of an Eastern European country involving the fraud (potentially involving billions of dollars) by several different people who are now living in several different jurisdictions, this work is extremely high value, an arbitration against a Russian bank with the LCIA as well as a potential mediation/CEDR involving a contract dispute and a potential insurance claim by a well-known medical provider and other general and on-going litigations.

THE ROLE

The role will involve commercial litigation, international arbitration and other modes of dispute resolution. We are seeking an outstanding senior associate/counsel. You will have experience and advise on a full range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, shareholder disputes and tortious disputes. Work comes from a wide range of industry sectors including information technology, telecoms, media, investment banking, pharmaceuticals, mining and other. This senior position will be suited to a candidate with at least 6-8 years of PQE or equivalent experience from a recognised practice. Applicants must be highly motivated and will need to work under very little supervision and closely with other department members.

Work will have a particular focus on:
o    Substantial multi-jurisdictional litigation .
o    Fraud and asset tracing.
o    Regulatory and governmental issues and disputes.
o    Mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
o    White Collar fraud.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

o    Commercial Litigation lawyer with at least 6 year’s post qualification experience gained from a well-regarded firm or team.
o    White collar fraud experience desirable.
o    Strong experience in financial services and technology litigation desirable.
o    Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style. Detail driven and extremely thorough in their approach.
o    Commitment to outstanding performance.
o    Excellent analytical and research skills.
o    Clear drafting skills.
o    Enthusiastic and ambitious.
o    Russian speaker would be advantageous but not essential.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

o    Excellent academic record, minimum of 2:1 at degree level.
o    Strong law firm credentials having gained experience in the corporate team of a top tier UK or International law firm.
o    6+ years of litigation experience.
