Locum In House Solicitor in London, Derby, or remote working possible

In House Solicitor sought to provide legal support to a railway manufacturing company based in Derby, in respect of the ongoing arrangements for the commencement of Crossrail services (the Queen Elizabeth line). The company is building the depot and the fleet that will deliver the Crossrail train services, which are due to commence early next year.

The role is likely to last about two years but the company is at this stage only seeking cover for around the first six months of it. The company would like the role to start in the next four to six weeks.

The successful candidate will:

• need at least three years PQE;

• need confidence in handling claims, albeit that litigation experience is not essential – the candidate would be working closely with the quantity surveyor and the role would involve trying to sort claims before they become litigious; and

• will not need prior rail experience.

The role would be full time or at least near full time. They can be flexible on location but, at least in the first 6 weeks, would probably need to spend at least three days a week at either the base in Derby or a London office.
