New Roles in today 10th June 2020

Six new locum roles in today as follows:

  • Exeter based firm looking for a civil litigation consultant to take over a caseload from a retiring consultant. Work is general civil litigation, bit of personal injury possibly, contested probate, professional negligence and partnership disputes. Looking to pick up more general civil. Currently has a case suing the police and the NHS. Hours completely flexible – sounds like a very ad hoc arrangement is sought. Remote work absolutely fine, although the firm has an office with parking available in Exeter if local for anyone.
  • Essex firm looking for a locum to cover a mixed civil litigation caseload in a department currently dealing with civil disputes, contentious probate together with landlord & tenant and debt. Locum needed to cover whilst the firm fill a permanent role. Contentious probate seems to be a particular requirement for this firm. Office based. Full time or part time hours. Start date asap.
  • Commercial Property and Commercial Litigation Roles – Remote – a law firm who operate an online service are looking for commercial property solicitors to join to take ad hoc work as and when it comes up. The hourly rate indicated is £70-80 per hour for standard commercial property matters and more for increased complexity. However it is not clear what constitutes complex work. They try to accommodate workloads – so if you have capacity to take 10 hours a week, this is what they will try to provide you with, etc.. The firm would be looking to provide potential clients to a commercial property solicitor to deal with for the duration of the case. Their conversion rates from initial enquiry through to orders is quite good, but the work will involve an initial 15 minute discussion with you. These calls are filtered by the firm’s client care team initially. We have been working with the firm for over a year now and have a number of consultants working via the platform. It seems to work very well for some people.
  • Employment and Commercial Property Roles – Remote – London law firm looking for two remote working locums, one to deal with employment and the other to handle commercial property work. The practice operates using consultants on an ad hoc basis and we have worked with them before – they are reliable payers (always a plus!). They ideally seek London/City/major regional law firm experience, plus in-house experience is desirable but not strictly necessary. The firm have operated a remote working model for a number of years and geographic location not important to them.
