An organisation undertaking disciplinary proceedings in relation to a profession in the UK seek a solicitor or barrister to join them on a fixed term contract or locum basis for a period of about 6 months, possibly longer, whilst they recruit permanently. They are looking for a solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 10 years PQE, looking to work in central London, and working as an adviser during hearings. You will ideally need to have experience of dealing with regulatory law and ideally a background dealing with misconduct proceedings in some capacity (for example Nursing and Midwifery Council, SRA) with one of the professions – eg Dentist, Doctors, Nurses Solicitors etc.. However someone from a litigation background would be a good fit, for example criminal or family law solicitor. Start date is as soon as you are able. 6 months minimum, possibly longer depending on their recruitment drive.

Location: Central London

Hourly rate: negotiable.
