Residential Conveyancing Locum in Altrincham, Cheshire – starting 21st March 2022 for up to 3 weeks – office-based role – VAC-22413

A law firm in Cheshire are looking for a residential conveyancing locum to provide cover at their Altrincham office starting from 21^st March 2022 for up to 3 weeks. This is due to the fee earner being away and will involve a mixed caseload of about 35-45 files.

You will be expected to do the whole job – barring registrations, which are done by another person – including progressing the caseload, reporting on title/searches/mortgage, taking calls and answering emails, and managing exchanges and completions. You should be able to work largely without an assistant, although the department does have one assistant who may be able to assist with basic administrative tasks. The firm have good paper files and use Proclaim.

Office hours are 09:00-17:15 Monday to Thursday, and 09:00-17:00 on Friday with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break between 13:00 and 14:00. This is therefore a 36h week. The firm would consider a locum who only wanted to work four days a week, or reduced hours.
