Technology & Commercial Solicitor with specialist knowledge in IT, IP, Procurement and Regulatory Law.
After leaving Unversity, Ken spent 9 years as an electronics engineer providing technical support for a military defence systems company and to a world leading mobile cellular telecommunications company. He qualified as a solicitor in 1999 specialising in technology and commercial law and spent 7 years in private practice before joining Rolls-Royce plc where he was lead legal counsel for the Research and Technology function and procurement.
He then spent a further 7 years with BAE Systems at their head office in Farnborough primarily advising the Advanced Technology Centre and Maritime business divisions of BAE.
From 2017-2019 Ken was Head of Legal for a market leading Indian owned digital transformation services company headquartered in Mumbai, India.
Areas of Expertise: Complex technology contracting, outsourcing, data protection, cyber security law, gaming laws and technical standards, IP protection and licensing, strategy, procurement and public procurement, projects, disputes, regulatory, risk and compliance and industrial relations. Detailed and particular experience of the UK and US defence and security sectors and a wide knowledge of ISO and NIST standards, DEFCONs, DEFSTANs, FARs/DFARs, EAR and ITAR, and UK trade controls.
